A Bricks and Balls Game
I was inspired by Lemmings and thought it could be amazing (and increase desirability and collectability) if I made the balls themselves little characters. I could imagine the sounds of their little voices going 'Weeee!' and 'Eeek!' as they bounced around

A Bricks and Balls Game

My art direction for a game rebrand. A brick ball breaker game, I felt making the balls themselves collectable characters dramatically increased the desirability of getting and purchasing ball costumes. I developed a number of ball character ideas and also explored theming levels to match. The football player had football field bricks and background, wheras Tutenball had sandstone and gems with pyramids. I also offered a very different very graphic direction that was much closer to the game in it's original form. One of my measures of a cool game character is 'Would I have a figure of this on my desk?' I applied that logic here.
